Green Electric Mopeds Good For The Environment

Electric mopeds are not powered by a gas engine, but with a motor powered by electric batteries. And are powered by an electric motor and offer those who are environmentally conscience a good source of alternative transportation. Electric mopeds are great to have and many people love to use them when trying to save on gas and the environment. Green Electric go peds are designed to carry a maximum rider weight of 220 lbs. Electric mopeds are silent, can travel up to 50 kilometer and can be recharged using a domestic power point. All Electric Mopeds are street legal, running from over 40 to over 60mph depending on model. Today, green electric scooters are just as powerful as their gasoline-powered counterparts, with the added advantage of being virtually silent, clean green machines that can plug into a standard electrical socket to recharge.

Cost

Electric mopeds can cost more than gas mopeds, but they can also be a great investment since they do not require gas. Modern History The popularity of mopeds has been occasionally boosted by the ever-rising cost of gasoline. If you live in a large city, parking fees will push your vehicle costs even higher. Green Electric mopeds are even cheaper than a gas powered one, some costing as little as 0. Electric Scooters have a low maintenance cost and less maintenance as compared to gas scooters and gas vehicles. The fuel costs for electric power are approximately 25% the cost of gasoline power (US, mid-2008). Batteries may also need to be replaced every 3-5 years, the costs of which need to be considered. A distance of few miles with a green moped scooter will cost you around while a large car will charge 0 for the same distance1 year ago. And if you have a 15 mile commute, an electric moped will save you about 00 per year on fuel costs just for that commute as compared to a 28 mpg car.

Environment

They are environmentally friendly, easy to operate, and easy and cheap to refuel. Green Electric mopeds are relatively inexpensive and they do not need gas so they are cheaper and have less of an impact on the environment. Rising gas prices and environmentally conscious travelers have combined to boost the popularity. Green Electric mobility scooters are great because there is no noise or pollution to the environment.

Green Electric mopeds are great to have and many people love to use them when trying to save on gas. And are the best solution to stop cars from polluting and destroying our local and global environment. You can also feel safe knowing that electric scooters and electric gopeds are better for everyone, because no one has to breathe in gas fumes. We believe that right now electric mopeds are the better selection. Because electric e peds are not powered by any type of fuel, they will not pollute the air with carbon emissions which is detrimental to our environment. Going Green for the Average Person

There’s a lot of talk about going green these days. Exactly what does that mean, and can it be done by the average person? Going green is changing your habits for the betterment of the environment. That could mean a lot of different things.

Using Renewable Products

Many of the products that we use are in short supply. Oil, wood, and minerals are just some examples.

Let’s look at oil first. We use it to fuel our cars, among other things. If you could buy a car that ran on something that was completely renewable, that would be ideal. There are hybrid cars readily available, but they’re a little pricier than cars that run on gasoline. If you are in the market for a new car, you might consider paying a little extra, especially since gas prices are so high. But what if you’re not ready for that kind of investment? There are still things you can do right now to conserve fuel. Take public transportation, carpool, combine trips, telecommute, or even walk or ride a bike. That sounds difficult, doesn’t it? You don’t have to completely change your lifestyle all at once. Just do some of these things occasionally. Every little bit helps. And maybe once some of these habits are a part of your life, you’ll do it a little bit more.

]]>

Wood is one of many materials that we use in building. But trees, especially some types of trees, take a very long time to grow. The supply is dwindling because we use more than the earth can supply. Look around for alternatives. There are different types of wood that grow more quickly, so the supply can be replenished. How about paper? Do we need to print everything out, or can we save documents in a digital format instead? Get an eReader and go digital for books too!

Minerals are mined and are finite in quantity. Supplies of copper, for example, are being depleted. In addition to the very real possibility of running out of copper and other minerals, mining is often damaging to the area around the mine. Vegetation is cleared away and waste rock, sometimes with harmful substances, must be disposed of. Again, no one person can immediately fix this problem. But everyone can use substitutes when appropriate and recycle. Again, every little bit counts.

Reducing Waste Products

So many of the things that we use today cause waste products to be put back into our environment. From a car that emits greenhouse gasses, to those individual serving containers that cause a huge amount of household trash, to plastics that find their way into the ocean and harm wildlife, whether you see it directly or not, we the consumers are causing these problems. What can we do to reduce the damage? First, substitution. Can you buy and use something that doesn’t cause so much damage? When you’re at the store, look for products with less packaging or biodegradable packaging. What about using reusable grocery bags instead of new plastic ones each time? Second, recycling. We have the opportunity to easily recycle so many products now. Many trash collectors provide separate pick-up for items like newspapers, cans and bottles. And what about reusing something at home? Can you store food in those plastic containers that sliced lunchmeat came in? Pretend that you just can’t run to the store and buy something cheaply. Look around and see what you already have that could be used to satisfy a need.

So many green initiatives require a more substantial investment than any one individual or family can provide. When a business invests in these kinds of efforts, we as consumers can support them. We can also alter our everyday lives to help the environment. It doesn’t seem like much, but if everyone does a little, it turns into a lot.

A Comprehensive Guide To Mobile Car Wash Machines & Supplies

A mobile car wash company is an attractive business opportunity for professional cleaning companies. The market for this service is ever growing. Fleet maintenance companies who own or manage a large fleet of vehicles often seek the help of mobile cleaning professionals to keep their vehicles clean on site. Additionally, many large companies offer auto detailing services as a perk to employees by contracting out a mobile auto detailer.

Since mobile car detailing is a field of immense growth, many cleaning professionals are seeking entry. However, it is important to recognize that mobile cleaning is quite different from standard detailing at a car wash facility. Let’s examine why.

An Overview of Auto Detailing

The process of cleaning vehicles is a more complex process than other cleaning jobs. The main difficulty is the wide variety of surface types.

The exterior metal parts and body of a vehicle are hard and durable. One requires a powerful cleaning machine, such as a pressure washer, for cleaning the engine components and exterior of the vehicle. In addition, the oil and fuel stains on the engine components are not easy to remove with less powerful machines.

However, most of the interior surfaces of a vehicle are soft. For example, seat upholstery, mats, and carpets are made of soft materials. Powerful pressure washers are not suitable for cleaning such surfaces, as their high output pressure will damage and soak them. As such, interior detailing requires a specific type of cleaning machine – a carpet extractor or carpet cleaner.

]]>

Mobile auto detailers not only have to have the right equipment to clean vehicles, they must be able to transport this equipment easily. As such, mobility is key. The following are brief descriptions of the ideal systems for mobile automobile cleaning.

Pressure Washers

Pressure cleaners are essential for cleaning the exterior hard surfaces of automobiles. Pressure washers pump water or steam at high pressure levels onto the surface to blast away stains and impurities. These machines are ideal for removing oil stains, chemical blots, petroleum residues, mud, grease, tree sap, bird splatters, and more from automotive exteriors.

However, one must consider the specifications of pressure washers for auto detailing: that is, output pressure level, output temperature, and flow rate. Ideally, the output pressure level of pressure washers must be less than or equal to 1500 psi. A higher pressure level may harm the surface, while a pressure level too low may not clean effectively.

Output temperature is important as well. Steam output is the best for a mobile car wash. If steam is not an option, hot water should be used. Using a cold water machine will cause you to use extra water, resulting in excess run off. And, when traveling to a customer’s place of business, this is not an option.

Excess runoff is also a result of high flow rates. Therefore, moderate to low flow rates are ideal for cleaning automobiles in remote locations.

Carpet Cleaners

Carpet cleaners are also part of the auto detailing supplies needed. These are used mainly for cleaning the mats, seat upholstery, and other interior parts of a vehicle.

One must select a carpet cleaner that makes use of low flow technology. Otherwise, the seats and carpets of the vehicles will not dry as quickly as the vehicle owner wants. Also, damp carpets can lead to mold or mildew growth, particularly in environments with little air flow as with automobiles.

Carpet extractors are also available in heated or non-heated configurations. For the greatest cleaning power, purchase a heated carpet cleaner with temperatures up to 210°F.

Green Chemicals

Green chemicals are ideal for portable car wash services. These chemicals help in removing dirt and other impurities, but do not cause any harm to the vehicle, the people who travel in the vehicle, or the environment. It is better to select green products that are completely sourced from plants and readily biodegradable. Be on the look out for advanced green technologies that improve the cleaning power of these solutions.

Eco Friendly Cars ? What Are The Features And Benefits Of Going Green?

Cars and other vehicles on the road have often been blamed as the cause of climate change, along with wasteful energy use. Therefore, the number of cars on the road is believed to have contributed to the carbon emissions that have brought about climate change and global warming. A lot of initiatives have come about to urge us away from driving such as the increase in fuel or road tax motoring costs.

As easy as it is for the government to say we should use cars less and opt for public transport instead, for many workers the only realistic way to get to work is via a car. Luckily advancements in the motor industry have brought about new cars that either use less fuel or reduce emissions to a more acceptable level.

These cars tend to have an engine that uses new more efficient fuel such as Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) or cars that have an electrical engine to handle the slower urban driving such as hybrid cars. These vehicles perform just as well as regular cars but have green credentials that really help the driver save money.

]]>

Fuel costs

Hybrids cars use electric batteries as well as a petrol engine to help use less fuel which means you won’t have to spend as much money to top up your car, in many cases as long as you aren’t driving over a certain speed then you will barely touch the petrol at all. LPG conversions can help save money on fuel as well because the fuel is significantly cheaper than Petrol or Diesel and has a lower level of duty and taxation.

Tax costs

The amount that drivers pay for road tax is now determined by the emissions levels put out by your car, these newer, greener vehicles can have as little as £0 to pay for Road Tax and other eco models of many popular cars can have very low tax costs to pay. This is hoped to encourage more people to switch to a greener vehicle as a cut in taxes is too good an opportunity to pass up.

A lot of cars, even the not so green versions these days are more economic than older vehicles and the recent car scrappage scheme has helped this trend as many people have traded in their petrol thirsty old bangers in for an efficient modern car that will save them some money whether it’s at the fuel pumps or on the tax disc.

There’s plenty of greener vehicles available at car dealers up and down the country, check them out today and if a new car is out of your financial range then consider quality used cars instead to make a saving.

Hybrid Cars

Prices of fuel are rising day by day and the standard vehicles are posing a threat to the environment with the green house effect. This has prompted researchers to look for alternative sources of energy. In the vehicle, the internal combustion of the engine is the biggest contributor to pollution. Hybrid cars are now growing in popularity and attention because of these problems. There are a lot of manufacturers either working of making these cars or offering them for sale in the market.

There are two main types of hybrid cars: parallel hybrids and series hybrids. The former has both gas engine and batteries for electric motor. The car is run by a small gas engine and when there is additional power required, the electric comes to the rescue. This is necessary for increasing the speed. Honda is using this kind of technology right now.

The series hybrids, on the other hand, has a generator powered by a gas engine. This generator charges the batteries and then gives power to the electric motor. The gas engine cannot power up the automobile on its own. It comes only when circumstances ask for it, normally it is just the electric motor which runs all the time. The mileage of this vehicle is better when most of the work is done by the electric motor. This technology is currently used by Toyota and Ford. The gas mileage in hybrid cars is better than what you get in traditional cars. The hybrid automobiles give output of 20 to 30 miles per gallon more than the standard automobiles. Hybrid cars automatically shut off the engine when you stop the automobile. You save a lot of fuel this way. When the gas pedal is pressed, the engine gets switched on automatically. The gas engine also starts charging the batteries automatically when they are on low power.

]]>

The gasoline burned in hybrid cars is much less and hence the pollution is also lot less. The vehicles do not emit as many gases in the air as the standard automobiles. Emission of carbon dioxide is also a lot less. Many scientists hold CO2 responsible for global warming.

Hybrid cars are made up of the following parts –

Gas engine – it is smaller and better in energy efficiency as compared to traditional automobiles.

Fuel tank – this is also a bit smaller because hybrid cars don’t need much gasoline

Electric motor – this acts both as a generator and motor. The latter collects energy from the batteries for powering up the car acceleration. Energy is sent back to the batteries when you slow down. After that, the batteries get automatically recharged.

Batteries – These are required in a series in order to power up the electric motor.

Transmission – it is needed to propel the vehicle forward just like the traditional cars which are powered by automobiles.

Energy is recovered to the battery from the electric motor. When you press the brake, the energy is transmitted from the motor to the battery again. This is called regenerative braking. It is needed to recharge the batteries and keep them in good working conditions.

Electric Car

Today, the consciousness improvement of environment issues and the benefits of sophisticated technology vehicle have raised concept and market need of electric car back.

Electric car have capability to reduce city pollution by its emission of carbon dioxide which is almost zero because its do not use fossil fuel as its moving energy. Electric car use battery energy to activate its electric engine.

Electric car mass products in the future are wished having a great impact in automotive industry. Some given advantages are the reduction of pollution and the dependence of oil. A newest report said that in 2020, electric cars and cars with environmental friendly technology will take a third of global car total selling.

At LA Auto Show car exhibition 2010 in Los Angeles in the past, it is mostly dominated by the prototypes of electric car which are environmental friendly. One of many automotive companies which took so much attention is Toyota.

]]>

Toyota Motors, which have $ 50 million of share in Tesla, show “RAV4 EV”, which is a version of all-electric car, smart utility sport RAV4 car, with Tesla electric motor technology.

Actually, Toyota which is the Indonesian best ideal family car (mobil keluarga ideal terbaik Indonesia), in 1997, has introduced RAV4 EV (Electric Vehicle) for the very first time in California. Not long afterward, Toyota starts city electric battery-small commuter vehicle program which is called e-com. E-com program is aimed to mobility with more reachable price than RAV4 EV.

However, this program was stopped because the market, consumer, and environmental mind at that time were not ready yet for electric car using.

Toyota has decided to bring lithium-ion BEV (Battery Electric Vehicle) small commuter back again to the market in 2012.

With the improvement of battery technology as electric motor main energy supply, the world hope that electric car will produced massively soon to take over fossil fueled conventional car today. So, the earth will be green again and reduce green house effect which has reached concerning level today.

Does your choice of car colour give an insight into your personality?

Does the colour of your car reflect your personality? The majority of drivers would undoubtedly agree that the colour of their car has some meaning for them; after all, few people are willing to pay large sums of money for something that doesn’t appeal to them visually, especially when they have a say in the matter. However, what does each colour mean, and what does it say about a driver’s likely on-road performance?

According to studies conducted in New Zealand, the U.K. and the U.S., certain car colours end up in collisions and accidents more frequently than others. Trends definitely occur when several thousand results are tabulated. Take, for example, the colour green. Seems relatively innocuous — until you peer closely at the data. Drivers with dark green colours are generally solid, well-grounded types; but their light green driving counterparts rack up almost as many accidents as red car drivers.

Of course, aside from their high accident rate, red car drivers have a reputation for being passionate, sexy, and dynamic. The data partially supports this, although according to a U.S. study, the red may just be a clever way to disguise deep insecurity. Compensation, perhaps? Getting comprehensive car insurance for a red car can be more costly than virtually any other colour, although the rates heavily depend on the track record of the individual driver.

]]>

Not surprisingly, silver cars tend to be owned by very sleek, detached individuals who possess enormous reserves of self-confidence. They have the lowest accident rate of the colour spectrum, making it easy to procure online car insurance at a decent rate for these vehicles. Cream cars and grey cars also seem to attract a centred, non-accident prone type. Oddly enough, data isn’t available on the specific accident rate for these types of cars.

Yellow cars attract a youthful, optimistic driver, although these drivers also are prone to making impulsive choices, resulting in a relatively high accident rate. Orange cars seem to be owned by people who are heavily invested in the present, which makes them prone to extreme changes in how they view themselves.

What is fascinating about these observations is how simple gradations in colour can radically alter the demographic most likely to drive the vehicle. Pink cars, for example, could be said to have a great deal in common with red cars, yet the personality types attracted to these shades are extraordinary different. Gentle people tend to drive pink cars, in contrast with the hard-charging, high-achieving, yet secretly insecure red car owners. In another instance of colour trumping perception, brown cars are said to attract a sensible, thoughtful demographic, yet in New Zealand, they have the second highest crash rate. Depending on where you live, your cover or insurance plan may change based on the behaviour of other drivers.

No matter what your actual personality is, when choosing the colour of your car, remember that looks are only as thick as a coat of paint; it’s all about how you choose to drive it.

Minneapolis Green Fleet Strategy Saves Money and the Environment

The City of Minneapolis has just introduced its “Green Fleet” strategy, a joint effort between the Mayor and the City Fleet Management Department. The City intends to continue this adaptive approach to greening its fleet as technology and the marketplace change in the future.

A “Green Fleet” Policy works by increasing fleet sustainability and reducing cost to taxpayers. Thanks to decisions made under the new Green Fleet strategy and investments in advanced technology, the City of Minneapolis now uses fewer vehicles in smarter ways, and has simultaneously been able to cut costs to taxpayers and reduce air pollution.

According to the city of Minneapolis, vehicles are the largest contributor of air pollution, which is linked to increased rates of cancer, heart and lung disease, asthma and allergies. Carbon dioxide in car exhaust has also been blamed as one of the biggest sources of greenhouse gases linked to climate change.

]]>

City officials said they are using a fleet GPS tracking system to reduce the short-term and long-term costs of owning and operating City vehicles. Also the GPS tracking system is helping the City to reduce vehicle idling, because 10 seconds of idling generally uses more fuel than restarting the car and produces more pollutants.

Minneapolis City Fleet Managers reported that the new Green Fleet Policy has already helped the city to reduce gas consumption in city vehicles and equipment by 6 percent from 2008 – 2010. The program reached a significant milestone when the city reduced the size of the fleet by 75 vehicles since 2008; and improved fleet fuel efficiency by purchasing 324 alternative or hybrid vehicles. THe city has also retrofitted large fuel guzzling vehicles to reduce vehicle emissions, which ws partially funded by Federal grant money.

Drivers can make a big impact by changing their driver habits. Minneapolis City regulations prohibit most vehicles from idling for more than three minutes. If you see a vehicle idling for more than a few minutes, the city says you should call 311 to report the driver.

Most people do not realize how much gas idling wastes. Idling gets a driver nowhere, yet it burns fuel and creates unnecessary air pollution. Exhaust from an idling car is more dangerous than exhaust from a moving car because exhaust from an idling vehicle carries a higher load of pollutants.

Is It Less Expensive To Insure a Hybrid Car?

With the advent of green living and more Earth-friendly lifestyles, companies all across the board are featuring and promoting products that follow the green philosophy. All of us are probably familiar with organic markets, reusable water bottles, canvas sacks, and of course, the hybrid car.

The hybrid car is supposedly eco-friendly because it uses less fuel compared to your standard, run of the mill car. When a hybrid car is running and it gets into a certain speed, its batteries come on, therefore consuming less fuel. Of course, the batteries are rechargeable, which is also a nod to reusable energy. It is not uncommon that many families and individuals, in the effort to save money, have switched to hybrid cars in lieu of regular ones.

Despite hybrid cars costing more than regular cars on the market, studies seem to indicate that hybrids promote more savings in the long run, as hybrid car drivers don’t have to refill with gas as often. What about in the realm of insurance? How much would it cost to actually insure a hybrid car? Would a car owner expect to pay more or less? Is it really less expensive to insure a hybrid car? Read on to find out!

]]>

First, the bad news: it is actually more expensive to insure a hybrid car. A recent study concluded that hybrid and small cars in general cost more to insure compared to larger, more fuel-hungry counterparts. To name specific examples, a Honda Civic will be about 0 more expensive to insure than a Honda C-RV. To ensure a Toyota Camry hybrid will end up being 0 more expensive than ensuring a regular Toyota Hybrid.

Now, why is this so? It’s not that insurance companies are against hybrids, saving the planet and the green movement in general. At the end of the day, insurance companies run on cost. The cheaper a car is to repair, and the easier its parts are to source, the cheaper the insurance rate for this particular car. In the case of hybrids, there are plenty of reasons why they cost more to insure. First, their repairs are specialized, and you can’t go to them anywhere, which means that you will most probably get a hybrid specialist to repair it in case something goes wrong. Another reason is the parts: hybrids have very specific parts which cost more than the average parts. Lastly, hybrids and generally small cars are more commonly stolen compared to their bigger counterparts. All of these help to add up insurance costs for the hybrid.

If you’re really set on a hybrid, then there are still possible solutions. Perhaps the best thing to do is shop around for insurance companies. Some insurance companies actually provide discounts for vehicles that prove to be fuel-savers. If you manage to find an insurance company like this, then you can count on saving a few bucks on car insurance.

Santa Clara used cars will soon include a hybrid sports car

With the focus of the auto industry resting gently on the laurels of green driving, many of the earth’s largest auto brands have pushed forward into the future with hybrid and electric vehicles. Santa Clara used cars already reflect the green treatment, with great vehicles like the Toyota Prius numbering among them. When it comes to Honda, you won’t always think “sports car” right away, but the brand is coming through with a combination that’ll knock your socks off: a hybrid sports car called the CR-Z. The fuel efficiency that this car claims is pretty amazing, especially for a sports car, logging in at a respectable EPA estimated 37 mpg. That kind of mileage isn’t just great for a sports car – it’s good for any car. In fact, the new CR-Z’s mileage lands it in fifth place for fuel efficiency in the market. All that might change when we’re able to test how well electric cars work, but it’s still a great accomplishment for the Honda brand. Sunnyvale used cars drivers can’t wait to get a closer look at this innovative new vehicle from a trusted brand, and they won’t have to wait too much longer.

Part of what makes this car so different from other hybrids on the market is that the electric part of the engine does not kick on immediately when you start the car. Instead, it kicks the gas engine off when you’re standing or idling, which helps contribute to the car’s amazing fuel economy. Most Santa Clara used cars don’t get anywhere near this much green. A recent review of the CR-Z from the New Jersey News Room offers more details: “A car doesn’t have to be ugly to be fuel efficient. Nor does a car have to sacrifice pizzazz to save the planet. Starting with those dictates, the challenge to the guys with the crayons at Honda was to come up with a low end, compact sports car, which had hybrid technology and better gas mileage than the little, Plain Jane, Honda Fit or its stalwart workhorse, the Honda Civic. So the designers threw out the old templates, melted their crayons drawing something that oozed a sense of hot and, since they couldn’t think of a clever name for it, settled on the CR-Z.” Sunnyvale used cars could take a page out of Honda’s book and start gunning for a more effective hybrid engine while offering a car with a solid design and great features.

For Santa Clara used cars, the future of engine technology is coming quickly. A brand with the backing that Honda has is sure to be an innovator in the field, and the CR-Z is just more proof of the fact that Honda is incredibly comfortable in its own skin. Sunnyvale used cars that bear the Honda brand are among some of the most dependable vehicles on the market, and now there’s a fun and fuel efficient reason for you to head down to your local dealer and give a test-drive.
